Welcome Graduate Students to the largest region- the Southern Region!
Your regional representatives this year, Dorothy Hines and Jamon Holt, proudly represent graduate and professional scholars in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Dorothy Hines is a second year Masters of Public Administration student at North Carolina Central University. At North Carolina Central University, she has strived to excel academically and professionally within her field through active networking and collaboration with students and faculty. She is on the NCCU Graduate Student Association Executive Council, a member of Phi Alpha Alpha Honor Society, Program Director for the Health and Wellness Program, Research Assistant for the School of Education, and Research Assistant for the Institute for the Study of Minority Issues. Her academic publications include Under-representation of African American Students in Gifted Education Programs: Implications for Sustainability in Gifted Classes, and Regional Specific Incentives for Teacher Recruitment and Retention. After graduating with her MPA, she plans to attend a Ph.D Public Policy program.
Your second regional representative, Jamon Holt,
is a second year doctoral candidate at University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
He is obtaining a doctoral degree in the field 
of Education with a concentration
in Social Foundations of Education. Our primary goals, as regional representatives,
are to promote the advancement of graduate students in their desired fields and
to increase networking with other graduate and professional students in various
universities within the Southern region.
