This conference will provide you with workshops and seminars aimed towards graduate and professional development, and give you the chance to meet with members of other BGSO/BGSA chapters throughout the North Central Region.

Registration Fee

The conference registration fee is $35 for everyone, members and non-members. This fee can be paid online, on-site or mailed.

  • If you register by mail, use one registration form for each conference registrant.
  • Please write your name as you wish it to appear on your badge.

Hotel Information

The official hotel for the North Central Regional Conference is the Holiday Inn Civic Center Mankato. The room rates are $99.00 a night, with check in at 3:00 PM and check out at 11:00 AM. Please call 1-800-287-0037 to make reservations. When making reservations, mention the group code NBG to receive the $99.00 per night room rate. Otherwise, the cheapest room is $102.00 per night.

 

Call for Papers

We invite you to join the Northeast Region as we reflect and repair, acknowledge and ascend, prepare and produce, envisage and encourage, and boldly blaze new trails!  We are calling for posters addressing any ACADEMIC topic of interest to the diverse membership of the National Black Graduate Student Association.

Poster Submission Guidelines

Posters are ideal for presenting speculative, late-breaking results or for giving an introduction to interesting, innovative work.  Posters are intended to provide authors and participants with the ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions about the work.  Poster sizes are not specified; however, they should be at least 17” by 22”.

Proposal Submission Instructions

The following information is required for poster submissions:

  1. Proposal Submittal Form: This includes the title of the paper, poster, panel, or presentation, authors(s)/ presenter(s), phone number, category, presentation format and length, and audiovisual requirements.

  2. Poster Abstract: The abstract text must contain the title and a 250-word (maximum) detailed description of the poster presentation.  If submitted electronically, the abstract should be in Microsoft Word format.

All poster presentation submissions must be received by Friday, September 19, 2008. You should receive a confirmation of receipt of your submission within one week after it has been sent. Notifications of acceptance will be sent no later than a week later.
