Greetings Students of the North Central Region!
Welcome to the second largest region of the NBGSA. Our region is honored to be the home of our Dear President Nameka Bates. Marc DeWitt and Cendrine Robinson are your 2008-2009 regional representatives.
About Marc:

Marc L. DeWitt is a Spring 2008 graduate of Wright State University's Student Affairs and Higher Education program. (Dayton, Ohio). He is currently applying for acceptance into a doctoral program to pursue his Ph.D in Higher Education.
Marc aspires to address concerns of graduate students of color, specifically in counseling and higher education preparation programs. Marc also aspires to be the President of a small four year (preferably an HBCU) or community college. Marc places high value on his road through undergraduate education which began at Sinclair Community College (Dayton, OH) and ended at the historic Central State University (Wilberforce, OH). “The two-year college and the black academy, served to provide access for me, and millions of others like me. I work to see that access expanded.”
About Cendrine:

Cendrine Robinson is a 1st year Masters student in the Clinical Psychology Program at Roosevelt University. At Roosevelt, she has strived to strengthen the community of African-American graduate students. She recently organized an affiliate, Roosevelt BGSA, which has grown tremendously since its inception in December. Cendrine is excited to hold this position and be of service to the North Central Region.
After completing her Master’s program, Cendrine plans to attend a Clinical Psychology doctoral program. She plans to specialize in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology in order to effectively work with people who have experienced stroke and traumatic brain injury. In addition, she intends to teach at a four year institution and hopefully inspire others to pursue graduate education.
Cendrine and Mark are the Regional Representatives for the North Central Region which is comprised of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Cendrine and Mark's plans for the North Central Region for this year are to continue to improve Black graduate students’ involvement in NBGSA related programs and activities, establish permanent communication with the Black Graduate Student Associations at every College and University in the North Central Region, establish permanent communication with the Black Graduate Student Associations at every institution in the country, set realistic goals for the North Central Region and work hard toward accomplishing those goals, devise a strategic plan for the North Central Region, as well as revise or establish guidelines and policies that support the NBGSA’s organizational structure.
