Call for Papers

In tandem with the theme of our 2008 National Black Graduate Student Conference, “Brilliance in Black,” we invite graduate student work that explores this theme from a variety of intellectual and disciplinary perspectives. Particular attention will be given to works that consider areas of public health, gender concerns, and politics and spirituality (taken together).

Given our position as the largest interdisciplinary organization for black graduate students, we also welcome work that employs and celebrates interdisciplinary methods. Additionally, we welcome work from non humanities and social science based disciplines, that may not speak to the topic directly, but by virtue of its own intellectual rigor demonstrates the continuing nature of black intellectual traditions.

In other words, scientists, engineers, future doctors, public health scholars and more should also see this journal as an outlet to publish work which would benefit from peer review from fellow black graduate students and professors. And finally, we always welcome work that treats the black graduate student as a primary subject of inquiry.
