CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The 2011 - 2012 NBGSA Western Regional Conference is seeking proposals for posters that focus on our theme: “Institutional Navigation: No Dreams Deferred”. We invite you to join us as we seek to empower and assist black scholars on a journey, of navigating institutions of higher education. While proposals related to this theme are encouraged, proposals addressing any topic of interest to the diverse membership of the National Black Graduate Student Association will be welcomed.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

THE POSTER PRESENTATION
Posters are ideal for presentation speculative in-progress work, late-breaking results from completed work, or for giving an introduction to interesting, innovative theoretical work. Posters are intended to provide authors and participants with the ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions about the work. Posters should be no larger than 36’’ HIGH BY 56’’ WIDE.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to present at the 2011 – 2012 Western Regional conference, you must:
• Submit an abstract of 400 words maximum (excluding title and authors information) with a deailed description of the poster presentation. The abstract should be in Microsoft Word 97-2003 format.
• Include name, university affiliation, academic creditials (MA, Ph.D, etc), and email address at the top of the abstract. If proposal is selected for presentation, this abstract will be used in the conference program as the description of your poster presentation.
• Submission Deadline: September 21, 2011
• Acceptance notification for all submissions: September 24, 2011
