CALL FOR PAPERS
DEADLINE EXTENDED NOVEMBER 4, 2011
“Leadership, Empowerment, Professional Development: Pathways to Black Graduate Success in the 21st Century Unstable Economic Environment”
November 11-12, 2011
Howard University, Washington D.C
The 2011 NBGSA Northeast Regional conference is seeking proposals for poster presentations. These poster presentations may be current or past conducted research or any developments on a research topic related to the theme of the conference.
We implore you to join us and present at our solution-oriented conference that seeks to explore Leadership, Empowerment and Professional Development as the pathways to Black Graduate Success in the 21st Century unstable economic environment.
Our theme and workshops seek to harness the critical need for black professionals to develop 21st century solutions that will: help them to thrive in the current economic/educational crises confronting the Obama administration; its disproportionate impact on minority graduate students; the inability to find jobs and the role that black scholars can play in mitigating the effect. Research can deal with any one geographic location or take a Pan-African approach. Most important is that research speaks to challenges and provides solutions.
We encourage students of all disciplines to query issue areas and present applied and philosophical research that addresses 21st century demands to problems faces by people of African descent but also welcome proposals that address any topic of interest to the diverse membership of the National Black Graduate Student Association.
