Presentations
The 2008-2009 NBGSA Conference Committee is seeking proposals for
papers,
posters, and panels that focus on our conference theme: Engaged, Empowered, Expect It.
We invite you to join us as we reflect and repair, acknowledge and ascend,
prepare and produce, envisage and encourage, and boldly blaze new trails!
While proposals related to this theme are especially welcome, proposals
addressing any topic of interest to the diverse membership of the National
Black Graduate Student Association will be considered.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We are soliciting presentations of research, projects, and workshops involving a single topic accompanied by a written paper explaining the issues, methodologies, and outcomes. A scholarly paper may be a research report, case study, methodological paper, theoretical paper, or scientific display. Papers should not exceed 25 pages in length and should follow the guidelines of the associated discipline (MLA, APA, etc.).
CALL FOR POSTERS
Posters are ideal for presenting speculative, late-breaking results or for giving an introduction to interesting, innovative work. Posters are intended to provide authors and participants with the ability to connect with each other and to engage in discussions about the work. Poster sizes are not specified; however, they should be at least 17” by 22”.
CALL FOR PANELS
Panels are not alternative forums for full research papers; however, they should focus on a single topic or theme. Panels should not have more than five presenters and should also include discussion time at the end of the session.
